Robert Buck Jr, also known affectionately as RBJ, I've always had a very
sarcastic sense of humor, sometimes to a fault, if I don't make it clear that I'm kidding
in certain situations. I wear my emotions on my sleeve and again, sometimes that gets
me in hot water. It is what it is, and I am who I am. I am well known around Roster
Wars for many things which include the “hello” board bet video punishment, guiding the
Las Vegas Degenerates franchise into losing the most games in the history of the
league, and always providing entertainment value as my late-night alias Mike Diggs. I
am proud to say that as the owner of the Las Vegas Degenerates, of Chapter Three, I
am currently one of the last few remaining “originals” that was born into Roster Wars
on December 20 th , 2011. I was physically born and raised in the Illinois town of
Glendale Heights, which coincidently means I was born into being a lifelong Chicago
Bears fan. I currently reside in Crystal Lake, which allows me to also continue enjoying
being a fan of the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Chicago Bulls. I'm
the youngest of three brothers. Middle brother is Dennis, who lives in Bartlett, IL.
Oldest brother is Michael, who lives in San Diego, CA. Mike recently had his first child,
Anthony, giving me my first nephew.
When I am not focusing all my attention to the Degenerates, I am a
Restaurateur for Chipotle Mexican Grill. Been with the company for 11 years and had
been GM for the last 6 years. Then, about 3 years ago, I got promoted from General
Manager to Restaurateur, which is basically just a recognized top-tier GM position in the
company. Before that I was General Manager of Georgio’s Pizza for 10 years. I am very
proud to have worked up to my current position at Chipotle Mexican Grill. Going from
managing a family owned pizza place that did roughly $200k per year to successfully
managing a corporate store that tops $3m in sales annually has really opened my eyes
and made me appreciate opportunities that are presented to me.
To me, everyone walks a path that is theirs alone to walk. Never regret your
path, simply do your best to enjoy the journey. I work hard and that is why I choose to
play even harder. If I was able to talk to my 18yo self... I would tell myself three
things... Number 1, smoke weed. It will make you relax and not start drinking. Number
two, listen to the Grateful Dead. It will open your mind to your inner joy. And finally,
number three... Don't be such an asshole. I've destroyed a lot of relationships, personal
and professional, over the years that I would love to go back and stop being a stubborn
asshole.
“There is a road, no simple highway, between the dawn and the dark of night, and if
you go, no one may follow, that path is for your steps alone.” - Jerry Garcia.
